What: As scientists, we develop unique skills and viewpoints that we can use to solve problems in our communities. This workshop will help you learn how you can interact with our state and local governments.
This 1 hour workshop will present a case study on graduate student political advocates from Rice University, share information from Jeffrey Warren about his role at the North Carolina Policy Collaboratory, and provide an action guide on how you can advocate for policies to your state and local legislatures. This workshop will focus on individuals with a science background but will be useful for anyone with an interest in local politics!
